Custom Patches Let You Teach Old Cliches New Tricks

Sometimes, it seems like there’s a lack of originality in the world. Music samples, “rebooted” TV shows from decades ago, and tired old phrases everywhere you look.

If you’re looking for something original to put on custom patches, try flipping the script. With a little twist, you can turn even the deadliest cliché into something new.

You know the ones I mean: Avoid like the plague. Run like the wind. No news is good news. Tempest in a teapot. All those boring sayings you’ve heard all your life. But they don’t have to be boring. Just change ‘em up to fit a new situation.

It’s easy to create a conversation piece patch from just about any phrase or idea. You might need to be prepared to explain it sometimes, but the really good stuff speaks for itself.

Case in point: Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. For our purposes, that qualifies as a cliché. It’s on cars everywhere, we all know what it means, yeah, yeah, yeah.

But in the hands of songwriter Jim Steinman, it became “Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are,” showcasing the hold memories can have on us.

You could describe a new computer as “a block off the old chip.”

Want to create a dragon logo, but don’t want the standard fire-breathing, flying, etc.? How about a dragon with heartburn? Or one that’s afraid to fly?

Or let’s say you’re starting a car club for Pontiac owners who like British high tea. Teapot in a Tempest, anyone?

Once you start looking around for creative ideas, it’s easy to find them. Just don’t settle for the first thing you come up with, and you’ll wind up with something unique. Don’t be afraid to venture beyond the everyday image. Think outside the warehouse (see what I did there?)

You’re a creative soul. Make sure your patches reflect that. Call or email us today, and we’ll be glad to help you fully express your own originality on first-rate custom patches. We’re waiting to hear from you!
